A modeling photography session is not just for women....
Most of the time when we think of a model, some female located on a high class magazine or walking on a catwalk is what first come into our minds. However, the modeling world has the influence of males that can send a positive and powerful statement for themselves. Understanding this as a professional photographer is a key element that I need to have.
On this modeling portrait session, we decided to have a monochrome style shoot. I wanted to use hard lights to showcase power and high contrast. After making the plans for the shoot, model Dustin came to my studio located in San Marcos, Texas where we relaxed with a couple drinks. We decided to start the session with a number of outfits and progressed through the portrait session to a more harden style. Our make-up artist added some details to his face for a death style shoot. I was setting up for this style of image captured when I noticed his tattoos after his shirt came off. I asked him to just have a seat on the floor of my studio with out his shirt on, leaving the laces of his boots loosen. I positioned the lights above his head and captured some really cool images that were not planned.
One thing that always happen during everyone of my session when it comes to portraits, headshots, commercial or personal images collection, there are times that the plan changes. These changes come from the ability to quickly see something that is possible without taking up too much time. It is also helpful when the subject, in this case a model is open for some different styles that was not planned. Being a skilled photographer, I can make changes grab the images and moved back to the plan with little to no time lost. This also opens up the window to give extra images for the client to pick. As a professional photography studio in San Marcos Texas, not only is it to create images that the client love, but give me more room for image sales....... Which did!!!!
