Texas State University Graduation Photographer
It is that time of year for graduation portrait session. Looking for that portrait photography that meets the need, tells the story, and express you accomplishment in a session designed and geared towards each student. This is what Greg Mitchum Photography a photographer located in San Marcos, Texas does with his sessions. After several years of refining his technique, I have decided that a graduation session should be more that just a backdrop, cap and gown and a smile.
A graduation session, regardless of the level of education level should showcase character and personality of the person who has succeeded in their goal. This is something to think about when selecting your professional photographer. Remember this is a milestone moment, that should not be taken lightly. Therefore the photographer should not take the session lightly as well.
During my session, I have learned what the graduate is into. What are some of their like and dislikes. I do this by collecting information through a couple telephone calls in an attempt to collection images for both the family as well as the need of the graduate. Sometimes, these images can showcase some of the events, hobbies and groups that the graduate may have been doing to help assist with the overall accomplishment. From sports photography to music, each photography session is custom to each person.
To many times, when walking around Texas State University conducting a client shoot, I see that there are several photographers capturing these images are just a friend that has a camera. I do understand that a college student may not always have the means to hire a professional photographer. However, me being a professional photographer understand that this can be an issue. This is why I offer packages and payments plans to assist with ordering options. Another way to assist with the cost is combine your session with the people and friends that you love, or future needs you may have.
On this session the graduate wanted to have her best friend with the session. We went through her graduation photography session then turned in into a portrait session with her best friend.
On this graduation session, the client knew that he wanted a corporate head shot for his new upcoming business cards, linkin account, and promotional materials. So we structure the session to meet that need finishing up in the studio.
Make sure when looking for that graduation professional photography, that they can both gather the images that are a style and quality that you hope to see, but also capture images that will make you proud to hang as a fine art as well as promote on your social media.
